Established in 1996, The Plantsman is a full-service landscape design/install company that specializes in complete landscape renovations.  We bring expertise and enthusiasm to those wanting to expand their indoor space to include beautiful outdoor rooms for entertaining, playing, relaxing, meditating, and most importantly a refuge from a hectic urban life-style.

James Gum is the owner and general manager of the company and is both an experienced landscape designer and installer.  He has over fifteen years of business management experience and holds a degree in Finance and Business Administration from Louisiana State University and has a formal education in landscape design from Gwinnett Technical College.  He began his career in the landscape industry by working as an apprentice to well-known author, lecturer, and garden designer Tara Dillard and has installed over fifty of her designs over the past eleven years. 

Keith McGuire is the project manager.  Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, he has a background in the restoration of historical properties and has over-seen the restoration of several Victorian properties in his home-town.  Also an avid gardener, he brings an enthusiasm and attention to detail to every project.
